Vi has never used the arrow keys, at least not by default.  Maybe 
other vi-simulators have, but you should *never* depend on those 
working because you never know when you might accidentally be using a 
different vi-simulator, or one that is configured differently.

If you do vi, then you know hjkl, and you should never, ever be using 
anything else for doing cursor movement.
