If you haven't already, add the packman repository
(http://en.opensuse.org/Additional_YaST_Package_Repositories) through
yast to get the latest HPLIP installed.  Then you can run (as root or
sudo) `hp-setup` and then `hp-toolbox` to have the advanced HP
functionality (Ink levels, align/clean, etc).

For the printing service situation I use FedexKinkos as they are
conveniently located near me.  Otherwise, OfficeMax or OfficeDepot are
easy for onesy-twosy print jobs.
