What time is the meeting on Monday? Where in the NTC is it? Downstairs by the Mortuary Science?

Hey all!
We have a couple of in depth presentations this month!
Creating a Home/Office Firewall, Web and Email Server Setup
This meeting consists of two in depth, back to back presentations that will
step you through setting up a SOHO (small office/home office) firewall,
secure network, and production grade LAMP web and email server -- all run
reliably atop a standard residential grade xDSL/cable modem (dynamic IP) ISP
service.
Part-I: Creating a SOHO Linux Firewall Router w/DMZ By: Tweeks
This version of Tweeks' presentation goes beyond the version that he wrote for
the Linux Toys II book and also includes details on setting up a DMZ
(demilitarized zone) in which is used to securely offer up your own web and
email services to both the Internet as well as your secure internal users. A
DMZ is also where one would securely host their home VoIP terminal (e.g.
Vonage or digital phone adapter) or SIP video conferencing gateway.
The unique thing about the hardware in this project is that it is done on low
end/scrap hardware in a HA (High Availability) configuration -- with close to
zero moving parts (no hard drive, no fans). The unique thing about this
firewall's software is that it is based on a liveCD firewall distro called
Devil-Linux that can either be run completely off CD ROM or USB flash drive.
This leads us into the second half of the presentation...
Part-II: Setting Up A SOHO Linux Web and Email Server By: Robert Taylor
More details are coming, but Robert is reviewing the details on setting up a
LAMP (Linux/web) and MTA (email) server to be run from home and configured
via DynDNS, including alternate port SMTP and dynamic IP updates to DynDNS.
(more info to come on the web site)
Hope to see you Monday night!
Cheers!
