Hmmmmm I just went tru buying the incorrect DDR memory. You might wanna
look at the thread: 'DDR memory and High density, low density '
but the gist of what i found is that some boards will take dual bank
modules and others will not and that if a single side module is put in a
dual bank socket it will read only half of the one side if it is hi
density so my 1gig stick had 2x512 on one side rather than 512 on both
sides so even the distinction of hi-density or low density does not
solve the compatibility look at the mobo memory arrangement to see if it
has dual channel or single... I think cause I sure got confused but the
replacement is right now is running being memory tested by new install
of Ubuntu server, It is double sided and the sys sees it as 1gig but
reports it as 512 chan 2 and 512 chan 3 I also have a dual 128 in chan
0&1. Thats all I know on it some links in the thread.
