[SATLUG] Skype Alternatives for linux

How's Linphone? Has anyone used that sip/voip program? Does it have good sound quality?

Get a real VoIP/SIP client, not a proprietary VOIP-like program.  The 
Gizmo Project has a Linux client (see 
), but I don't know how 
good it is.  The Mac OS X client is almost as good as Skype on Mac OS 
X (I have and have used both), but I can't speak for the relative 
Linux implementations.
