James, yah I was. And I wasn't using the 2wire thing either. I put the  
ethernet directly into my linux computer. Authenticated using pppoe  
and everything was peachy. Hardly ever had problems. In fact, the only  
problem I had was when the neighbors dog dug up the fiber and chewed  
it to oblivion.
