I use BackupPC (backuppc.sourceforge.net) for this and it works quite
nicely.   Currently my system says:

 165 full backups of total size 1947.46GB (prior to pooling and compression),
 380 incr backups of total size 735.97GB (prior to pooling and compression).

df shows that these backups actually only use 500GB of space.  This
means I can restore any files on any of my systems going back two
weeks.  Restoring files is as easy as pointing and clicking links on
your web interface, with everything organized by host and backup date.
 BackupPC may not work for you if you need more than one daily
snapshot though.  I like to run it at night when there is less traffic
on our network.
