it could be scary, frightening or whatsoever, all they
have to do is outsource their email operations to
Yahoo, Google, <place your favorite provider here>, it
would be more efficient, less expensive, more
reliable, and with smaller chances to lock-in the
ISD's IT folks and bucks.
And before anyone starts wrapping around privacy and
security issues, every time you write an email you
should consider that you are writing a postcard and
sending it around the world, ISD's dealings should be
matter of public knowledge anyhow and we all know
there are tools to encrypt email contents.
as far as security, well, I am much more concerned
about the fact that elementary schools have zero level
of physical access security, at least the 10 ones I've
visited in the area and the one my daughters used to
attend when I was living in my previous home.
