You can look at Samba 4 (still under development). They say you can
distribute GPOs using 4 and the NT gpoeditor, provided you have current
templates (which you can find on your target system under the system
directory). It's still not as elegant a management environment from the
GPO perspective, but it beats having to have the 2000/2003 ADs running
in your environment.
