Sounds like a head collision - great justification for a UPS, huh?

Rerun the utility and add the switch to repair the disk.

Hi again,
at some point overnight, we lost power at my house. i turned the system back
on and got an error message. i rebooted the machine and got the same error
message and it urged me to use fsck so i did...

now i have this message:
" Error Reading Block 220 Attempt to read block from file system resulted in
a short read. while doing an inode scan. Ignore error?(y)"

" Error Reading Block 228 Attempt to read block from file system resulted in
a short read. while doing an inode scan. Ignore error?(y)"
