This is such a neat thread for us old folks, I just have to get in
$0.02.

Nobody mentioned DR-Multiuser Dos, which supports 8 virtual consoles and
at least 64 terminals, and is still current (Novell 'gave' development
rights to Concurrent Controls and IMS, if I recall correctly).

There is a BUNCH of DOS stuff out there - webservers, telnet servers,
ftp servers (and clients) - lots of embedded developers still use some
flavor...

Some new medical equipment is still DOS-based >> and uses DESQView to
handle multitasking!

DRDOS is still available (free download, $ for commercial), and the
FreeDos group almost has an open source work-alike (kinda like dos-emu).

DJGPP is the GNU open source DOS compiler/development tools/IDE
