[SATLUG] RR- Very Interesting - RR Network Change

Yesterday when I shut down my computer I had RR IP address 66.69.87.213.

I cam in today and fired up the computer and could see network activity;
but couldn't reach the RR gateway.
I did a pump and nothing changed.  Then ifdown eth0 and ifup eth0 and
nothing changed.  I fired up the browser and looked at the Linksys and
had a connection.  I unplugged the RR modem and still nothing.

I called the RR helpdesk and after 30 minutes got a tech who had me turn
off the modem and turn off the "computer" (I turned off the
LinkSys)...and everything started working and the tech. gave me my "new"
IP address.

Now I have a RR IP address of 24.167.120.165 and of course new gateway
and same old DNS IPs.

Hummmmmm, now why did this happen.  Makes for an unhappy customer. 
Almost makes me want to go back to SWBell.
