There's a good chance it will. If not, Toshiba is pretty good about trying
to help, even if they don't offically support it.

Just point your software to /dev/hdc and you should be fine for DVD
playback. I'm not sure about how to burn CDs under Linux though, but I'm
sure somebody on the list can help you. The system will look at the combo
drive like two separate devices (DVD and CD-RW) on the same connection.

That's probably your best bet. External modems are out of the question
though, these machines don't have serial ports.
