Hrm... usb-ohci?? someone more knowledgable than I would have to help
out on that. I'd assume one good idea is to recompile the kernel without
USB suport, since you don't seem to want to use USB why load a module for
it? There's been a recent discussion on how to do that, so I wont comment
on that here.
As for the differences between ext2 and ext3. IMHO ext3 is better, but
that depends on your needs. It's a shame you're not in the previous
problem (X isn't doing so well) those problems I'm usually quite good at
solving. I've just never had a problem with USB under linux (only have
two usb devices so haven't tested it a whole lot). What errors are you
getting with it on startup? and what kernel are you using?
the "i" thing wont help you because the USB support is a kernel module,
interactive startup only asks you for premission to start things in your
scripts. (ie /etc/rc.d/init.d/*)
